Counselling and Psychotherapy
Counselling and Psychotherapy are terms that are often used interchangeably. Counselling aims to help people resolve current issues that may be causing emotional unease. Psychotherapy is typically a more in-depth, long-term process that focuses on a person’s past experiences and how they are feeling. Ultimately, both are talking therapies that involve exploring thoughts, feelings, and behaviours in a private, confidential environment.
All our therapists are appropriately trained and qualified. We all work in our own way, but some of the modalities on offer are Integrative, Person Centred, Gestalt, Existential, and Brief Solution Focused therapies. Some useful techniques that can be used by therapists include some CBT exercises, focusing, and creative exercises such as using art as a medium of expression.
Clients will be offered an assessment with a trained therapist, and as part of this process we use the CORE - OM form to gain a greater understanding of your needs.
This service provides sessions both face-to-face and online, however face-to-face sessions may be limited from time to time. If you would like sessions to be held in person, please contact us to check availability. We are planning to expand to offer more face-to-face availability when the resources become available, so please check out our latest news page for updates.
